San Francisco native Yolanda Adra has always been an artist at heart. As a child, her favorite activity was to visit the San Francisco Museum of Art to experience all different types of artwork. Since then, her love for art blossomed into a full-time career, but she hardly thinks of creating art as a job-instead, it is a passion: "A job is something you have to do, but a passion is something you love to do." She worked in a variety of media while attending San Jose State University, but she settled on glass shortly after moving to Los Angeles in 1994. She first became interested in stained glass, then took a glass-fusing workshop, and she proudly states that she "never looked back." Yolanda had found her true passion. She has focused on fused glass ever since.

Five principles guide her work as an artist: (1) indulge love of bright colors; (2) boldly express the logic of lines and planes; (3) keep the creative process spontaneous and gestural; (4) trust aesthetic feelings and instincts; and (5) liberate the imagination of the observer with non-representational designs.

Yolanda has worked in a variety of mediums including steel and bronze sculpture, ceramics, woodworking, painting, printing, and furniture design. Yolanda Adra's work has been purchased by private collectors and corporations, and exhibited in many places, including San Francisco, Palo Alto, Carmel, Beverly Hills, Malibu, Santa Monica, Laguna Beach, Malibu, and La Jolla, California; Santa Fe, New Mexico; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Tampa, Florida, and New York City.
